OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma City Warriors, proud members of the NA3HL, fell to the Tulsa Oilers 5-2 on Saturday.
Tulsa came out hot in the beginning of the game, outshooting Oklahoma City 19-7. The lone goal of the opening frame came from Luke Yahola with 6:26 remaining, making it 1-0 with John Scown picking up the helper.
Second-period action saw the same trend, as the Oilers led the shot department 14-9. Chase Boswell found his first of the season with 16:27 remaining in the middle frame, off of an assist from Luke Level. Despite being short-handed, John Scown found a goal of his own at the 8:07 mark, set up by Raul Galadzhian to triple the Oilers’ lead 3-0, rounding out the scoring in the period.
Benjamin Craft broke the seal, wiring a home a shot from the top of the point at 11:36, assisted by former-Oiler Carter Kelley to make it 3-1. Later in the period, Oklahoma City crawled back within one as Jesse Mismash ripped a seeing-eye shot from point, set up by King McDougall, making it 3-2. Raul Galadzhian and John Scown each potted empty netters within the final minute, securing the 5-2 final score.
Tyler Miller stopped 35-of-38 shots faced in the Warriors’ effort, and Derek Hetland stopped 28-of-30 in the Oilers’ win.
