The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) has announced that its Board of Governors has approved the membership of the Oklahoma City Warriors, with the team set to begin play in the 2026-27 season.
President and General Manager of the Oklahoma City Warriors, George Chalos, states the organization’s excitement in bringing an NA3HL organization to the Oklahoma City area.
“We are excited to provide another rung in the ladder of development for the Oklahoma City community.”
The Oklahoma City Warriors will operate out of the Blazers Ice Centre in South Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The facility features an NHL-sized ice sheet with the arena seating 1200 people. In addition to the facility, the Warriors will have a dedicated locker room and fitness gym.
Blazers Ice Centre has been the home of the Oklahoma Warriors for the past few seasons. Having both the NAHL and NA3HL teams in the same facility provides players with the opportunity to climb the ladder of development.
The Oklahoma City Warriors will be led by Ken Hoey, a longtime hockey coach.
Deputy Commissioner of the NA3HL, Tyler Giwerowski, states why this new organization will continue the goal and mission of the NA3HL.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Oklahoma City Warriors to the NA3HL family. With hockey continuing to grow in the South, the Warriors will provide athletes the opportunity to play in a competitive South Division that has had success moving players to the NAHL and college hockey.”
The Oklahoma City Warriors will join the NA3HL’s South Division for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The team will be one of seven teams: Austin Ice Bats (Austin, TX), New Mexico Ice Wolves (Albuquerque, NM), Phoenix Inferno (Phoenix, Arizona), Texas Brahmas (North Richland Hills, TX), Tulsa Oilers (Tulsa, OK), and the West Texas Wranglers (Amarillo, TX).
The NA3HL is one of only three USA Hockey-sanctioned junior leagues and serves as one of the top training grounds in the country by providing the best coaching, exposure, and developmental vehicles available for student-athletes. The NA3HL advances more players to the NAHL, NCAA, and ACHA than any other junior league of its kind.
USA Hockey has been properly notified, and formal approval is expected at their annual meeting in June.
